How long to grill tilapia
It's my first time making this and recipe even without watching the video is very easy to follow. And as someone who's not too fond of spice, I loved it as well! Instructions Remove the dirt from the fish and wash it with salt and water or lime and water and pat it dry with a paper towel then set it aside.
To make the Marinade, combine all the ingredients together in a blender and blend till it becomes a smooth paste.
Pour it inside a bowl and set it aside. Make about 3 deep cut or more on the fish depending on how big your fish is, then begin to brush the marinade over the fish, make sure you reach every corner baste every corner of the fish with the marinade including the deep cut.
Cover up the fish and place it in the fridge for at least 20 minutes or overnight. This will allow the Marinade to penetrate deep inside the Fish. After 15 minutes, flip it to the other side and rub it with some marinade again. Then leave it to cook for another 10 minutes.
When the 10 minutes is complete, flip it to the first side again and rub it with the remaining marinade. Descale tilapia and remove any unwanted parts gill covering and hard fins. Wash and clean it. Cut 2 diagonal slits of each side of the fish. Wash and blend garlic, ginger, onion and pepper. Pour blended ingredients in a bowl and add oil, season and salt to taste. Rub mixture over the fish diagonal slits and inside of fish. You can keep fish in fridge for an hour or more before grilling it or grill immediately any of preference tilapia grilling.
When using Oven, pre-heat oven. Sprinkle a little oil on pan and place fish in Pan before putting in the hot Oven. Grill tilapia for mins on both sides. When using charcoal, brush the fish basket with oil and place fish in it. Place basket directly on top of charcoal fire and grill for mins on each sides.
